How do I view Critical Literacy now?

          Week past week, Semester 4 is going to end soon. Indeed this semester is a challenging semester ever. All Semester 4 students faced with less rest, less energy and of course faced with miserable and stress feelings. But what we can do? It is our responsibility as a student. By hook or by crook, we have to finish this semester with flying colors. Well, being decomers couldn't run with any of English subject. So do Critical Literacy.

          At the beginning, I've stated that Critical Literacy is a ‘killer subject’ for almost everyone. I’m not talking simply but this is from my friends view too. The most critical part is when to do two assignments based on Rule of 10.We having to think out of the box to complete the assignment well. And yes, I

’m already in week 12 but I’m still weak in Critical Literacy subject. I have to agree that. I still have blur vision towards Rule of 10.I think lecturer need to have a lot of consultation session with their students. In my opinion, close approach will be better for students to have better understanding about this subject. It is a same thing happened in previous semester. Student can’t perform well in this subject because of blur vision towards this subject. But what a good thing happened is students never give up and try to do their assignment as well they can. Thus, with some effort from lecturer, I think students can have a clear vision on Critical Literacy.

Online Tutorials for Students

          Without we realize, government is trying to put all of their efforts to born a reliable Malaysian. The aim of their effort all this while is to make good Malaysians to rise up Malaysia’s name. So they start from giving good educations to young generation because young generation can be managing easily compared to university students. University students mostly will not change their stand. Ezlearn2u plan is a good plan for teachers to have close approach with students. As we all know, nowadays generation love gadget so much. As technology has emerged, study online is one of a good way to increase student’s interest in study.

          As being stated in the newspaper excerpt “Perak starts Online Tutorials For Students” dated 25^th February, 2013 taken from NST, “Many students who hate subjects like Chemistry, Physics, History, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, started to pay more attention and got better results.” This statement showed that through this material, students feel more interest to study. Students now can do homework and learn through video. It helps to reduce time and energy but a little bit costly. Even it is costly, but it gives a positive outcome. So, it is worth for government.  Teachers now can observe their students evolution through online. Teachers and students can do their work at anytime and anywhere. Teachers and students also can communicate well through online. So, I think this effort is a good plan for Malaysian’s students and Malaysian’s students should use it wisely and let’s make Malaysian proud of us.

"FLASH OF PRIDE"

          Malaysia has been free from colonizer for 58 years. Being free from colonizer is not an easy task. Malaysian should be proud of our warrior as they had sacrificed their life to make Malaysia free from colonizer. What Malaysian can do to show their respect towards Malaysia’s warrior is through take a good care of Malaysia’s name. But today, young generation are not well-mannered. As can be seen, criminal cases rose directly and it is not a good sign for our country. Young generation didn’t have patriotism spirit in theirs. The nearest example that can be seen, Independence Day are no longer has a rousing welcome anymore. Nowadays, Independence Day became a normal day. No longer ‘flags everywhere’. If this happened to generation Y, what will happen to upcoming generation? As Malaysian, keep Malaysia as a peaceful country is our responsibility.

          But for Malaysia’s achievements, I can admit that Malaysia have a lot of great achievements. Our Prime Minister helped Malaysian through BR1M, BB1M and KR1M. Through this help, a lot of Malaysian had already live easily. Malaysia also had great achievements in sports such as football, swimming and tennis. Nicol David had brings Malaysia name to international level. Thus, other countries feel respect towards our country because managed to born an athlete who are known across the world. Indeed we had achieved a lot of great achievements, but we are still lack of patriotism spirit in Malaysian. To keep Malaysia as a peaceful country, patriotism should be nurtured in Malaysian.

STEREOTYPING

          ‘Marrying money’ is a common stereotyping that being exaggerated nowadays. As can be seen today, young woman tend to choose older man as their spouse. ‘Older man’ that means here is a man between the ages of 40-60. If based on movies or drama especially Malay, most of story line is same. It portrays that young woman marrying an older man only because of money. Through this kind of story line, it makes people stereotype towards this phenomena as they believe that young woman is a gold digger but in reality just some of them. This bad perception should be change.

          Not all of young woman marrying old man because of money but because of their maturity itself. Research stated that old man is more matured and their ability to handle marriage is more higher compared to young man. This is because old man had live longer and they had gain a lot of experience in their life. With those experiences, they got some lessons and try to make sure their life will be much better. Young woman will feel secure with reliable man because they believe that marriage is not for a temporary time but for their whole time of life. Other than maturity, marriage is all about love. Love is the most important thing in a marriage. Hence, don’t stereotyping them as they have their own reasons why they choose to get married with people who are totally different age with them as stereotyping just can kill people.
